Frequently Asked Questions

What do you mean by “All Wood, No Particleboard"?
All Cabinet Giant cabinets are built from furniture/cabinet grade plywood. The face frames and doors of the cabinets are either maple or oak. No particleboard is used in Cabinet Giant cabinets.
Are the cabinets shipped assembled?
No, all Cabinet Giant Cabinets are shipped Ready-to-Assemble.
What are Ready-to-Assemble Cabinets?
Ready-to-Assemble (RTA) cabinets are new cabinets, packaged individually, ready for easy assembly on site. Each cabinet door is preinstalled to the face frame. Assembly times vary depending on the type and size of the individual cabinet. Wall cabinets can be assembled in 7-10 minutes and base cabinets in 10-15. Larger pieces such as lazy susans and oven cabinets can take a little longer because of the added pieces. For additional information on the assembly and construction of the cabinets you can check out the Spec Sheet and the 360 Degree Tour.
Should I purchase a sample door prior to ordering cabinets?
YES! YES YES! A sample door should definitely be purchased prior to ordering cabinets. We do our best to accurately represent the finish and quality of the products on the web site but due to lighting, monitor settings and other influences that can effect the appearance of images on a monitor or printed material we always recommend purchasing a sample door before any large purchase is made. An individual cabinet unit can also be purchased so the complete cabinet construction and finish can be viewed prior to making a purchase.
What are the wood doors made from?
The wood doors are built from solid maple or oak. For additional information on the door specifications please view our Specs Sheet.

We're proud to say that all of our cabinetry is A-OK in their book! Whether you're in California, New York, or just like to be environmentally conscience. We've got you covered!

Do I need a finished End Panel (BEP) for the exposed cabinet sides?
End panels are not required for installation. All cabinet sides are stained to match. BEPs can be used to bring the side of the cabinet flush with the face frame as the face frame over hangs the cabinet side by 1/4".
Do I need Toe Kick?
Each individual cabinet includes a cut to size toe kick for assembly. Once the cabinets are installed you will want to add the TK8 so you end up with a seamless toe kick.
How much wall space do I need for a blind BASE corner cabinet?
The blind base corner cabinets require a minimum of 42", and a maximum of 45" of wall space. The actual cabinet width is 36" but must be pulled at least 6" out from the wall to properly align with the adjacent cabinet.
How much wall space do I need for a blind WALL corner cabinet?

Are double oven cabinets available?
Currently we only offer a single oven cabinet. It is possible to modify the single oven cabinet to accommodate a double oven unit. The current opening is 30" x 30". The Elite line finishes have three drawers below the oven opening so if needed 1 or 2 of the drawers can be cutout and removed to create a larger opening for a double oven. The Standard line finishes can be a little more difficult as they have two doors below the opening. The door configuration can be changed to create a larger opening but it does require cutting and modifying the frame. This is only recommended for those who are very comfortable with wood working.
I saw spice racks and some other accessories in the image gallery, are those pieces available?
The spice racks, along with a few other pieces shown in the gallery images but not shown on our price list were purchased by the installer and then mounted to filler pieces. The spice racks, specifically, were purchased from a Rev-A-Shelf dealer that specializes in cabinet accessory pieces. Since the cabinets are all wood it is simple to mount or install additional accessories.
Where are the cabinets manufactured
The majority of the cabinets are manufactured in China using lumber from the U.S., Canada and China. There are a few items that are manufactured at one of our facilities in Missouri.
